Welcome to Aerotech Herman Nelson!

My family came from from tough Icelandic immigrants who moved into the Interlake district in Manitoba, Canada, and started in Lake Fishing, exporting fresh water fish to Chicago, lumbering, prospecting, gold mining, mink ranching, tractor train freight hauling, building winter ice roads, aircraft charter services, earth road building construction, and aircraft freight hauling all over northern and arctic Canada.

My first vivid memories as a kid working for my Dad were in the harsh Canadian winter months, standing under engines of Norseman, Waco, Otter, Anson V and DC3 aircraft, preheating engines with plumbers blow pots under engine tents and shelters. There had to be a better method to supply portable, instant, clean-air heating for aircraft engine & cabin preheating or construction, or the thousands of other applications in remote, harsh, and inhospitable locations with no power.
 
Personally I have enormous pride in our accomplishments from the time we started manufacturing Herman Nelson portable heaters and airline ground support equipment. Starting with some 30 dedicated employees, we now supply heaters and GSE to world carrier airlines that include: American Airlines, United Airlines, British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa, China Northern Airlines, Japan Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Korean Airlines, Asiana Airlines, Cathy Pacific, Varig, Northwest Airlines, KLM Airlines Air Canada, Westjet and many more. We also supply Federal Express, DHL, and United Parcel Service [UPS]. We build heaters for the Canadian Military and the United States Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines. We supply the Military in Korea, Japan, Greece, Italy, Spain, Holland, Finland, and Denmark among others. We build heaters for literally all of the major North American Petrochemical companies: Encana [Pan Canadian] Petro Canada, Shell, Esso Husky and all major pipeline companies. We could go on but space does not permit - and it's the people in the company that make it happen.

After University in the United States, opportunities arose to go airline flying in Mexico and all of Latin America which evolved into a long career of selling and supplying aircraft, aircraft spares, and AIRLINE GROUND SUPPORT EQUIPMENT to airlines and air charter operators as well as coffee bean growers and mining companies that used their own aircraft for transportation into remote areas. This in turn evolved into Aerotech Herman Nelson Intl. Inc., in Winnipeg, Canada. Aerotech now supplies Herman Nelson heaters to customers on both the north and south poles of the world and are very active with all the world countries' Research Stations engaged in research in the Antarctic and from the United States to South Africa and from Japan to Chile and the Argentine.

Aerotech today supplies Herman Nelson heaters and spares to some 158 countries in the world in Military, Airlines, and especially the petrochemical oil field/pipeline industries from Finland to China.

Our heaters are improving every year, and every year we are asked to supply heaters for different applications and customers. Recently, Aerotech heaters have become a part of the movie production business in Vancouver and Toronto, Canada.

We have a lot of proud people at Aerotech in Winnipeg, and we do manufacture the finest portable heaters in the world, period. Ask any airline, military, or oil patch people about Herman Nelson! Aerotech also maintains the largest airline aircraft inventory of Ground Support equipment in Canada.
